Hindustani Vocal Year 1 is a structured online singing path. You learn swar, sargam, alankar, laya, two beginner ragas, and one original AXIORA bandish through regular riyaz.

It is for beginners who want a clear year of vocal practice, and for learners who already sing a little and want a developing foundation.

Level: Beginner → Developing. Duration: 12 Months. 48 weeks in 12 modules.

12-month outline

  1. Month 1: Voice, posture, and Sa 4 weeks. Set up a calm practice habit and find a steady Sa.
  2. Month 2: Sargam 4 weeks. Sing short ascending and descending sargam phrases.
  3. Month 3: Alankar 4 weeks. Practice slow alankar patterns with breath and continuity.
  4. Month 4: Laya, matra, and Teentaal 4 weeks. Feel pulse, matra, sam, tali, and khali.
  5. Month 5: Melodic movement 4 weeks. Move from straight sargam into aroh and avroh.
  6. Month 6: How a raga takes shape 4 weeks. Hear swar, phrase, and pakad as more than a scale.
  7. Month 7: Raag Yaman 4 weeks. Study Yaman through listening, movement, and short phrases.
  8. Month 8: Raag Bhupali 4 weeks. Study Bhupali and hear how it differs from Yaman.
  9. Month 9: Beginner alap 4 weeks. Shape slow phrases inside the material you have learned.
  10. Month 10: Sur Ki Dhara 4 weeks. Learn AXIORA's original bandish with sargam, notation, and Teentaal.
  11. Month 11: A short performance set 4 weeks. Rehearse a short set and record a run-through.
  12. Month 12: Year 1 review 4 weeks. Consolidate swar, raga, and taal, then complete the year-end review.
